Do I have to download and install client software on my web site to use your service?

No, there is no client software to install and no updates to your website required to use our service.  We monitor over the web, so UptimeAuditor does not require any software at the client web site.  All monitoring services work remotely from our servers.  You will be able to view account history details and have results emailed to you.

I can monitor my own servers locally. Why do I need UptimeAuditor?

Often, your servers appear to be working fine from your office. You can retrieve web pages, ping the router, etc. UptimeAuditor does more than monitoring the up/down status of your web site and web server. Individual servers (SMTP, DNS, HTTP, etc) are checked with their respective protocols to ensure the server itself is responding properly. Most important, UptimeAuditor tells you if your servers are available to your customers and the world, because we perform monitoring over the internet from multiple different locations.

Is there an initial set up fee to open an account?

Can I cancel my account?

Yes. Please contact us and we will remove your account within 2 business days after identity verification.

No. If you decide to cancel your service account, there is no cancellation fee.

How do I manage my account?

Every service account comes with an online control panel, which is protected with your own email address and password. From this control panel you have total control over all settings, management tools, contacts and real time report and graphics.

I lost my account's password - what can I do?

If you have lost your password go our password request page.

My URL being monitored is wrong, what can I do?

If the URL being monitored is wrong, click on the edit icon after logging in.  You will be presented with a page to update the monitoring information.

Why does someone need this service?

If you have even one website that you want to remain up all the time, you need to constantly check it, to know it is available.  The problem is compounded the more sites you have. It is possible for a site to be down for a long time, and the owner not be aware of it, this can cost not only lost income, but website credibility as well.

How do I change where emails are sent?

After you sign in to your account, click on "My Account" at the top of your screen. Change your notify email.

From our main page here, click on the "Sign In" at the top of your screen.  You can enter your e-mail address and password in the boxes provided.

Can I get SMS alerts to my mobile phone?

Yes, with any of our plans you can be notified by SMS - there is a charge of $0.20 per SMS alert.

Is your site down message a real down?

Yes, we monitor from a global monitoring network. At a time, one of the locations will check your website or server. If it detects an error, another location will check again to confirm. All reported downtime are confirmed by at least 2 locations, this eliminates any false alarm.

As we grow, we will add more monitoring locations in different locations worldwide to increase our coverage.
